Here is how I installed mine..I used self tapping screws and it wasn't to bad to mount it to the heat sink

WOW, that's a kazillion dollar comment right there! I've just finished completely repositioning my controller and solenoid because I couldn't cover it. (concerned about water getting to it when washing, etc.) Knowing it's water "resistant" is good knowledge Scottyb! I thought water would be the biggest killer.

FYI, I initially mounted mine upright similar to the original OEM equipment and the wiring harness was quite tall and the main harness seemed stressed on the controller connection. I didn't like that.
So what I just finished doing is taking it all out, turning the 500amp Alltrax horizontally along the bottom of the mounting plate and mounting the solenoid on above the controller. Except for a few minor issues, it fit much better and looks much nicer as well. All of this was just so I could get that OEM cover back on!!! But after Scottyb said maybe covering it isn't such a great idea I'm thinking maybe I just keep it off. It still seems like a better set up. I can take a pick if anyone needs it.
