Reprogram speed code 4
Finally got my regen II to IQ cart up and running. Had to buy another controller after blowing the other one by accident. Seller said controller had speed code 4 programmed into it and sent the code 4 sticker with the controller...a standard Curtis IQ controller....He did say that they sometimes revert back to the old code upon energizing.. Well I am assuming mine did as I only get 14.5 MPH which is speed code 3. Called the closest dealer to see about getting it reprogrammed. 20 miles away. Now most people on here say that dealers will reprogram for free...surprise...they want $65.00 to reprogram it. I wouldn't mind a small fee but I think $65.00 is out of hand. Am I wrong in feeling this way? AND this is where I have been buying most of my parts from.

Re: Reprogram speed code 4
that's cheep remember they must buy the code from Club Car the code out of the other controller should not work. you could have the 1st controller rebuilt and it will retain the code 4.

I think you got scammed. Controllers do not "sometimes revert back to the old code upon energizing". You were sold a controller with code 3. Unless you have the actual electronic code 4 the dealer used to load into their programmer you do not have the code. BTW, $65 is cheap to program code 4. No where else are you going to gain 5 mph for $65 in a golf cart. |
