Voltage on frame

Just to ease your mind a bit, I'm sure you're using a megohm meter ( your digital multimeter ). These will measure very minute current flows when on the voltage scale. An acid leak, even plain water or dirt will give current a path to flow. You stated before using a cleanser to clean the batteries. This may also be somewhat conductive. Be very careful not to get any into the batteries! It will not be good for them! I wash mine with a very easy stream from a water hose. I put an old rubber floor mat over the electronics when I clean the batteries. You don't want to get them wet. Also, don't do this on your driveway! You will have severe rust stains afterwards! I wash mine in the grass to avoid the stains.

I have discovered those rust stains! That volt meter does measure very small increments. What was strange about the whole thing was, you could monitor the controller and see the temperature changing rapidly. At the same time, monitor the voltage on the frame changing rapidly. Just as alltrax explained, the two were cause and effect. I'm just glad I have been ale to ride again. It's been 4 weeks of chasing this issue!!
