Re: Plug type
You might be better off installing a TXT D style receptacle in the cart and just use the charger as it came.

Re: Plug type
If you don't find one, I've got the original off my cart that you can have. I had to remove it & install a marine trolling motor receptacle (& corresponding plug on the DPI) in order to make room for 8 batteries under my seat. I saved it for "just in case", but doubt I'd ever use it again.

Re: Plug type
Just realized I had a PM! Duh! Response sent......
Scotty, I told Mike that I failed to mention that I had busted the reed switch when I took it off, but that everybody recommended bypassing it, anyway..... |

Re: Plug type
As other may have mentioned, what ya got there are anderson plugs, they come in a variety of sizes and are common as muck.
looks like you have two different sizes. Many golf carts either come with or end up fitted with the 50 amp anderson plugs. The larger on in the picture looks like a 120 amp version. Should you replace the connector on your cart. Well...looking at the picture the contacts look a bit rough...if you have a nice new.....more or less standard plug on the charger it might be worth replacing the one on the cart.....both for standardisation and for better chaging. I have just replaced the 50 amp andersons on both my charger and cart, because the contacts where very corroded and the batteries where not charging at all well. As others will tell you, good contacts are very important on these high current battery systems. cheers |
