Battery hold down question
OK, I am about to get new batteries and I also bought a new hold down device and now - as always - I am CORNfused. Attached is a pic of where the hold down device attaches to the battery cage and also a pic of the new hold down device. How does this little thing fit into that big hole? Have I got the wrong hold down device? Any ideas?
Thanks! |

Re: Battery hold down question
Just stick the offset end into the hole and let it catch on the small shoulder and then stick the long end with the threads into the hold down clamp.

Re: Battery hold down question
Don't think that is the right one for a TXT. Mine doesn't look like that at all.
Should have "J" hooks and a different plastic piece. |

Re: Battery hold down question
After further study, that might work. Plastic part may be ok. I would still go for the "j" rods. Easy peasy.

Re: Battery hold down question
Yeah, I don't see how this "elbow" rod is going to work. It seems as if the "j" hook design may be what I need. This is what they sent me tho........

Re: Battery hold down question
I searched around and this is what most seem to be selling. Shop ezgo has the J rods.
They are 10.5 inches long. Maybe could source them somewhere else cheaper. |

Re: Battery hold down question
Kb, those are correct. J hooks are used in the RXV.
Take each rod and from the side put just the first step through the hoop and point it up. Both should come from the same side. The hoop will catch the center notch in the rod. The plastic piece has dividers that will go between the batteries. |

Re: Battery hold down question
That is the correct holdown for EZGO, just as KJSC says, you can put them in one at a time and then slide the holder down on top
