Default Re: Pyle Radio Good or Duds?

My best advice is to take a good look at Pyle audio equipment and its price level then take a good look at Polk, Infinity or Rockford Fosgate and the price point of "quality" stereo equipment. There is no free lunch.

My personal experience with Pyle speakers and a Pyle 4 channel marine amp is that their products are not even acceptable let alone good quality. The 50 watt amp couldn't produce as much volume as a 15w head unit. Maybe you will get lucky with that particular setup, but my bet is the $99 would be better spent as part of a $250 system from a proven quality brand.

Back when I owned a Jeep, I had outdoor Infinity speakers. Best speakers I've every owned and held up to the weather. As a reference, I put draing plugs in the floorboards so I could drain the water out. My old CJ only had the hardtop on for two months out the year.

I bought a Pyle marine weather proof AM/FM CD, with remote, all of the outputs and 4 - 6 1/2" speakers and a weather proof front cover/door for 89.00 shipped. I got Polaris kick panel speaker enclosures and radio mount and made the rear speaker enclosures out of 6" PVC. If all goes well I should have everything done by this Monday and will give a report on how mine does.

I've been doing stereo's for many years, I would get either the Polk speakers or infinity's for the price. The JL Audio's are nice but very expensive. Here is a link to a nice inexpensive radio with bluetooth so you can stream music from your phone too.

I put a Pyle mp3 amp in an AC drive RXV and it worked fine except when driving. It picked up the motor noise. Volume was ok except for the noise. Around $75 as a price point.
