Re: New controller for series CC Ds 48V
It depends. If you want to be able to make changes to your controller while you own it, yes, programmable would be nice. If you just want a controller that you put into the cart and don't have any changing to worry about or you want the controller to function just the way it does without having to change anything, non-programmable would be best.

GE manually adjustable controllers are a good option for guys that don't want to mess with computer reprogramming. These controls have screwdriver adjustments for amperage output and throttle up rate. 500-700 amp models available.

Re: New controller for series CC Ds 48V
I was reading on your site Scotty that 90% of folks run around on defaults anyway. If one would change settings what actually changes? Less or more Torque? Speed?

Re: New controller for series CC Ds 48V
The controller is my next upgrade to our series cart. Looking at a 400 or a 500 amp controller. Is there a Controller 101 link somewhere that can explain the basics to me before I purchase?
Thanks, M |

Thanks all ended up with a FSIP (GE) 500 amp controller for a price I could not pass up.

Re: New controller for series CC Ds 48V
Installed the new FSIP 500 amp controller this morning. It fit well, but I did have to trim solenoid bracket and drill/tap a hole. This controller is 2" longer than than original. It uses the same holes, but crowded the solenoid.
I will report back with performance when the monsoon stops here in Florida. M |

Re: New controller for series CC Ds 48V
IV, I have had the same controller for years that I bought used. It has always worked fine for me, I maxed out all 3 screws turn clockwise and never looked back. I loved my 500FSIP so Much that I replaced with a 700FSIP I bought from SUNOCO. Max them out and have fun! Steve

Re: New controller for series CC Ds 48V
I am studying on how to adjust. Not sure if I even have to since I haven't been able to drive it yet. :-(
