Who doesnt need 8 more inches?
So, I sold the first cart I rebuilt to free up some funds to rebuild the second one I had.
First one finished. SOld it to build this one Looked nice on the outside, but looked like this on the inside. Got it all torn down and blown apart ready to replace and rebuild. The body was OK in general. Good and solid but had some gouges from the previous owners German Sheppard. Well, 10 months after I began the teardown, I finally got around to getting it drivable. Got the body painted, batteries put back in, and everything wired back up. That's when I decided I better go ahead and put the upgrades on it now or it may never get done. Parts purchased and installed: New DPI 36v Charger 6" lift wheel spacers so tires will clear leaf springs HD leaf springs because the factory springs had some broken leafs a set of 22" tires, but the company sent me 2 of the wrong size, so I only have 2 at the moment. replaced all cables with 2g welding cable And added a custom rear rack made from 1x2 rect. tubing. Here she sits now. Sits a lot taller than I thought it would, and much taller than my Marathon with the same setup. Still have a factory headlight and taillight kit to install. Still needs a set of seatcovers (bought some but they were crappy and turned out to be a waste of money), but Im not sure if I want to change the color or not yet. Also need to figure out how to mount the rear roof supports so I can put the roof back on. Its amazing how much more zip this one has as opposed to that old resistor cart. |

Re: Who doesnt need 8 more inches?
The rack is basically a design borrowed from one that is commercially available, but I put my own twist on it by using rect. tubing as opposed to the pipe that the commercially avaialable one uses.
The mounts are made of 2x4 rect. tubing. Will get more pics soon. |

Re: Who doesnt need 8 more inches?
I actually don't have any plans, but I do have a 3-D drawing for the rear rack on this one, but its a drafting file. If you have Google Sketchup 2014 I can email them to you. I haven't gotten any plans for the front yet.
