Here are a few pictures. They are not spring chickens any more but your right...new part, new wiring wouldn't hurt. But back to my original question...With money always an issue (I have seven school age kids living at home) witch of these parts should I invest in first to get this beast running.

Were it mine, and money being an issue, I'd probably clean up the cable ends and monitor them for heat. Everything else should probably be replaced. The solenoid might be an other optional purchase, but the microswitch is cheap.

Kinda depends on how far you run and how hard it would be to tow home if the solenoid conks out.

micro switch and solenoid are an option
wiring also
but put it on your to do list

Agreed but an MS is way cheaper than a solenoid, and probably not as well constructed.
