Default Repair after accident !! Need advice!!

Hi all, let me start saying I am new on this forum and also new owner of a golf cart. I do not play golf, just got the cart for the beach.

I bought a week ago a 2011 Club Car Precedent.

My niece who is 15 took it for a spin and got into an accident. Full speed tried to make a quick turn and flip to the right side. she is OK but the cart have dome damages.

I have a few questions and excuse my ignorance but as I said I am knew and have no really knowledge about this.

1. When the cart was on its side the battery acid came out, I rinsed later and now I think I need to add distilled water to all the batteries. Is this liquid the same used for car batteries? like go to autozone get some and add to all batteries? is as simple as that or I should charge the batteries first? Could you please advice? take a look at picture and let me know how to proceed.

2. The roof poles are bended as you can see in the picture. Is this fixable or should I get new ones?

3. The roof has scratches as same as the fender (black), can I use a fine sand paper to sand it off? I want the cart to look like new if it is not fixable I will have to get new parts...

Thanks a lot folks!!

If you want showroom new, you're gonna need some new parts, but with some bending back of the roof supports and some touch up work, maybe some light sandpaper on the roof, you could have it looking really good. In all likelihood if you fixed the damage that is there you'd be the only one who could tell it happened.

As to replacing fluid in the batteries - first thing you need to do is get rid of that battery watering tubing that runs between the caps!!! That stuff is like a fuse for the hydrogen bomb that is your battery bank, if one spark happens to ignite the vented gas then that tubing would mean ALL the batteries would blow instead of just one. Only use distilled water in the batteries, and to prevent overboiling, I always fill mine after the batteries have settled down after a charge.

Welcome to BGW, by the way!!

If the battery water level is really low, do not charge the batteries, you could destroy the plates.

Good call, I forgot to mention that!! If the water level is below the plates get it over them, then top up to the right level after a charge.

Thanks guys, I have not charged the batteries yet thinking on that too. I will go to autozone and get the water, removed the watery tube as well and add the water to each battery individually and charge them afterwards.

You are right about fixing it and only me may notice it.

you just need distilled water ... less than a dollar a gallon at grocery store no need for autozone

idea on top... check with local dealers they take off short roofs for the long ones .. or you can get the long one for rear shade
another way to hide top is a canopy cover ... yellow and black would look sharp
