I'm still waiting on my "new to me" Alltrax SPM 48400 controller to arrive, but in the meantime.....

The guy I bought this 6 seater from, in addition to installing an incorrect controller (accident), he installed a new solenoid. I know very little about any of this and a new solenoid, seemed like a bonus for me! As I begin to wonder about what is what, etc, I looked at the solenoid just to see if it had an amp rating, etc. I don't know what the stock one is supposed to be but this is what's in it, http://www.grainger.com/product/WHIT...Solenoid-6C031 . It appears to be a 50 amp solenoid. Is 50 amps enough for a 6 passenger golf cart?

A 50A solenoid isn't big enough for a regular golf cart. Stock controller for the two passenger cart is 85A, and it is marginal for that.

For a 400A controller (such as a SPM 48400) you need at least a 200A solenoid, and if you suspect you may up the pack voltage, use a Super-Duty (400A) that will work at 36V, 42V and 48V like your controller does.

Heavy-Duty and Super-Duty solenoids shown near bottom of the linked page:

I'm hoping I can sell the Curtis 1205-117 to offset the cost of the Alltrax. The Curtis 1205-112, I'm not sure if it works or not.
