Default Txt 2010 getting to freedom

I have an ezgo txt 2010-2011 "10th month of 2010". It has a curtus controler with toe mode but there is not a place to plug in the freedom chip. My question is, can the controller be changed to freedom mode with a hand healed diagnostic tool?If so is their any special codes that I need from the manufatur? How do I go about getting this done?

I just got passed by two 13 year old girls bringing my kid home from the pool! This is a big problem for me. I don't need more than the freedom mode but I do need the extra 5 to 6 mph!

Seems strange that you would have a tow switch but not ports in your controller. I didn't think they were still making DCS in 2010.

Mind sharing your serial number?

Where is F&R switch, and is it a moving handle or a rocker switch?

Sounds like you have a 48V TXT. That has a TCT (TruCourse Technology) controller rather than a PDS (or DCS) controller.

You have to have a handheld programmer to change the mode it is in.

I don't know if any special codes are needed to put it into freedom mode.

Agree. Far as I can tell 2010 was a transition year. EZGO made both 36v and 48v carts that year. The 48v carts require a hand held to unlock the top speed of 19.6 mph which used to be called freedom mode but might be called "coastal" now. You have to take it to a dealer ( or a repair shop that has the programmer). They might charge you to unlock top speed.

FWIW I have driven the '13 version of this cart and it is stout. Nice cart.

Also, I don't think anyone makes "series" carts anymore. Not sure when EZGO stopped but I'd be surprised if you could find a series cart past 2007 and I'm skeptical about that year. Too bad because series carts are tough and reliable.

OH, its 48v? Heres how unlock 48v txt freedom mode, or any RXV with curtis controller (for the millionth time). The handheld WILL NOT unlock freedom mode if it is locked out! MUST use this device. Look for the matching plug in the passenger side area under the seat.

Cgteck- how do I get one of these for my 2010 48v ezgo. Yes under the seat on passenger side is a plug that looks like it would fit that unit.

Ezgo part number 615518 is the part number for the single use passkey. Www.shopezgo.com doesnt seem to offer the single use key anymore :(... It appears that it can be had at www.m-and-d.com/ezgo-615518.html for $97.42
