EZGO Marathon dies/won't go

I'm new to this forum and working on Golf Carts. I have an early 80's EZGO Marathon that will run flawlessly for days. Then all of a sudden it won't take off and go or will just quit moving when going down the street. I will either push the cart a couple feet or wait a little bit and it will sometimes take off. There is no common cure for the problem. The batteries are new and according to the meter I always keep them above 1/2 charge. Solenoid was new 2 years ago. I've checked all the cables and connections. Anybody else had this problem before?? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Might be brushes or bad micro switch.
When it won't go push the cart 2-3 ft and try again. If that fails get out the meter and find out why the solenoid wont click
