Default need choke to start.

it was running fine and i got my short belt and tiny tach. so i was messing with my governor and got it running good 23 @ 4100 , but now it doesnt wanna start especially if you go heavy on the gas pedal. and most of the time you now have to choke it. the cart has to be rolling with the short belt. so im not sure if its the belt or the governor. it has new plugs, new air filter, new fuel filter, new carb,

Check the throttle linkage adjustment... Alot of the time, messing with the governer nut will slightly change the adjustment on the butterfly which leaves it cracked open slightly which makes it hard to start and backfire under deceleration.

thanks ez.i was thinking just that. because if your really light on the pedal it will start on its own. but my governor is adjusted all the way out so i lengthened the long linkage rod just a bit, i guess my throttle cable has stretched and will figure out how to shorten/shim that that up tomorrow. and lenghten the rod back

Sometimes with the short belt they will seem to start a bit hard until the belt breaks in a bit it took a while after I installed mine for it to start without what seemed to be a small drag on the engine. Now it starts and runs perfect. I might add I do have my governor removed but made a throttle stop to prevent over revving the engine I really don't care about speed just function. Speed cost MONEY how fast you want to go. $$$$$$$$$

Not looking for fast. Just peak performance with what's already there. Only other performance mod I'm thinking of is cpp clutch machining. I try and run at 38/3900 rpm max.
