Default how long should batteries last on a charge

I'm working on my 98 ezgo txt I bought, got the charger working and charged the batteries over night, but after about 10 or 15 mins they were weak and I had to stop using it... bad battteries or just need to be cleaned out ( desulfation)?

36 Volt or 48 Volt system? Did you test the battery pack after letting it sit for 12 hours after the charge but before using the cart? If so, what was the pack charge reading? For a 36-Volt system it should read 38.2, and for a 48-Volt system it should read 50.9.

A healthy set of 225 amp hour batteries will give 110 minutes of run time. This figure is based upon flat ground, stock tires, 1 person on the cart.
If any of the above facts change the results will be reduced. (Significant reduction for smaller amperage capacity batteries)
Reduced run time is an indication of reduced amperage capacity. Batteries lose their capacity to store amperage as they age.

Do a complete charge and let sit like DaveTM said. Get a full pack reading and then check each battery individually. Post the results here. Could be the whole pack, could be 1 or more batteries in the pack.
