87 starter question

can anyone tell me what the "df" wire on the starter is.? it has a small green wire on it, and if anyone know how to test one fill me in if you could. i know it's on here somewhere and i can search for it, bt if someone knows it would make it alot easier..

well i found the post on how to test the motor and it works fine. but i'm still curious about the "df" post if anyone knows.

I thought it was a small yellow wire, but I may be wrong, it's the field wire. If you ground it, it makes the generator put out full charging capacity for testing. The voltage regulator does this intermittingly to keep the voltage up.
