Default Stiffer Shock Options

Hey guys ive been reading for a while now love the site! Ive got a g2 yamaha with a homebrew lift.. My proablem is the front shocks are to weak and when i have to guys riden the tires bow in terribly /\ like that. I have moved the bottom mounting point of the shock in so the shocks are straight up and down. My idea was that it would compress the coils more so they were stiffer, which it did work but they still bow with weight on. so Im wondering if there are any cheap options (stiffer shocks) that i can do to fix this that wont break the bank.
Thanks alot

You could look into some rhino shocks. People take the stock shocks off for aftermarket and sell the OEM's on fleabay all the time. They are 2" longer, but you seem to have the capability to move your mounts so they would work. And they are stiffer!

Unforgiven what is IFS?

Flintrock good idea definitly worth a shot!

Also i was looking at the shocks on the rear and could it be possible that from the factory the rear shocks are stiffer?? looking at mine the front ones are nearly compressed and the rear ones have close to an inch of gap between coils.

I did 400ex shocks on mine....they have like 3 times the travel length and are really good on the spring rate.

The 400ex shocks are the most common Yamaha upgrade shock for home-built lifts.

Heres what I did. "Split shaft collars". At a "bearing/belt/chain supply," or place like Grainger. $4 each. You need to check for coil bind, before you put these in.

You also want the lower shock mount out as close to the end of the A-arm as reasonable for the shock to have a leverage advantage.
