the rear axle, engine cradle, intake and exhaust are different, you would have to change it all. If I'm not mistake the 2pg had 3 motor mounts, the 3pg has four.

Well it took me a couple a days to check, but the 1985 2pg I rebuilt for the neighbor 8 years ago has a 3 legged engine cradle with 3 rubber mounts. To put a 3pg motor in place of a 2pg would be a big project. The reed cages and intakes don't interchange. the 3pg intake you would have to cut the carb flange off, rotate and reweld it 90 deg. or the carb would lay on it's side. You would have to use the 2pg head, because the 3pg head has the spark plug angled and would interfere the the engine mtg. bracket. I have not seen a pre 1980 ezgo in more than 10 yrs. so maybe the first generation 2pg had 4 mounts.

Yeah maybe the 80 and up has three motor mounts. I only know my 79 has 4 cause i had to replace all 4 cause they were bad.
