Does a starter generator need to be polarized
I have a yamaha G2 cart that I replaced the starter generator on and have been having issues with battery staying charged! Any ideas?

Re: Does a starter generator need to be polarized
Check voltage running at low and higher rpm, and not running. Not using any lights/accessories. Check wiring connections and all fuses. G2 may have adjustable regulator on it, look for a square metal box on the driver rear fender well inside. Fuses may be there too and the reverse buzzer. Solid state regulator used later or replacement is not a stamped metal box but a sealed unit. Check the field wiring there to the side of the gen.
