Default Shift lever is stuck... Help!

So I just bought my new 99 EZGO TXT... text drove the crap out of it and worked perfectly. I actually got it stuck in the corner of my yard and had to go forwards and backwards like austin powers to get out of it. Ran good!

Anyways, two days later I went to take it to the storage shed at the course. and the dang thing WON'T shift out of forward. It's cold as all hell here in iowa and I don't know if that deal froze or what? but i drove it around some and nothing it WON'T BUDGE!!

any thoughts... could it just froze up? The only thing i did to it was pull that battery to throw it on the tender while I was waiting to take it to the course and peaked at the air filter. Kinda freaking cuz i just bought it.

Any thoughts? Help!

Unhook the cables at the rearend and see if you can get it in reverse with your hand. While you have the cables off push and pull the cables to see if they are free or not.

If you had any water in the rear transaxle, it's froze and preventing movement of the shifter. Like "Beaner" said, if you remove the cable, either the cable is stuck or the transaxle is.

I ran mine in the snow before the sub zero temps came in and mine is frozen up as well. I'll stick a space heater under it later this week, thaw it out and throw some oil down the cables. I'm 99% sure that your cables are just froze up like mine.

Stick the end of the cable in the corner of a baggy and rubber band it tight, pour in some wd40 and let it soak down the cable follow up with some silicone lube. good to go.

That'll work. Thanks Dooms.
I've got a cable lube tool that I've always used on the sleds.

My choke cable has a low spot in that collects water and freezes where you can't pull the coke in cold weather, just when you need the choke..
