Default 2018 RXV Jake’s disc brake yes/no

I have a 2018 RXV with 600amp navitas controller. Battery is an extremeteam 48/150ah lithium. Wheels are 14” with 20.8” tires. Cart has hit 37 mph, but only cruise around golf community <30 mph.

I am posting to see what the consensus is on whether a Jakes disc brake system would be worth the cost/effort to install. I have not (yet) had to stop in a extreme fast effort. The motor brake and regen seem to be working well, so far.

Curious to hear what the experts on this forum say.

Thank you!

I'm planing the disc brake for the near future. The motor brake is always powerful but, with the Navitas, my cart dosn't stop as smooth as with the Danaher controller before ( at slow speed ). I.e. when i drive the cart into the trailer, i could stop more precise, especially when rolling backwards on the ramps.

I originally installed the Jakes front disc brakes on my cart when I had a DC motor to assist stopping from 28 mph. Now that I have Navitas I’m not sure I really need it with the regen braking but it’s still a nice safety feature. It will be staying on the cart, no plans to take it off.
