Default G14 Vanguard Twin Build

OK, here we go. I had another thread asking for advice, but decided to start fresh for the actual build. Here is what I'm starting with:

Yamaha G14
Jakes 7" Double A-Arm lift
22x10" wheel/tires
Light kit
Seat covers
Soon to be wrapped in the Blue/Black/Grey camo vynl
18hp Vanguard Twin from a zero turn

On order:
CPP V-Twin engine cradle
780 clutch
Longer drive belt

Need to determine a muffler. It has a header of sorts (LOL see pics). I was going to use flex pipe from it to whatever muffler I buy. Then I'll wrap them with the heat tape to the muffler.

So, do you guys suggest going straight from pedal to throttle, or are you going through the rear end like stock? Also, do you have to remove the internal governor? If so, any good threads on how to remove it. I have a few days unTil the stuff comes in, so want to do as much as possible...

Have you even tried the search function on the forum?
A simple search will answer just about any question you have about installing a Vanny.
That's why we post here, so others can maybe benefit from our experience.
When you can't do a simple search, it makes us wonder why we added to the knowledge base in the first place.
This forum has become the Wikipedia for golf carts. All you need to do is search.

I don't run mine through the trans. My Vanguard still has the governor attached, but I loosened the governor plate so it just basically is bypassed. My throttle cable hooks to the governor/throttle plate.

Couple good threads that will help you with your install....it'll cover most of what you need to know.

Good reading in these threads. Info here sure to help.

Cool cart btw. I always like the Yamis!

Good plan for your exhaust. There's info here on that as well. Do a search on "Vanguard Exhaust" and see what comes up. Lot's of ways to go.

Thanks Slo, I'll check those out.

Marathon - As far as doing searches, I can and have. I'm not a moron, just new to modding golf carts! The problem is there are a LOT of threads that contradict each other so it is a bit confusing to say the least. Telling me to do searches was a great help, advice like that is priceless...

Again Slo, thanks. While I actually can do searches, it is hard to tell which ones are "good" advice. Getting insight into the ones people will back-up ( I.e. Saved favorites) does make it easier...
