First off, I would call Navitas (844 576 2499) and discuss compatibility with a Plum Quick motor of your choice. Navitas customer service is the best I’ve seen in any industry. Once you go to 48 volts DC you will likely need a new solenoid with resistor and diode, 2 gauge cables (for DC or AC) if you don’t already have them, a heavy duty F/R switch or reversing contactor and the motor of your choice, you already have a compatible controller. If you go the AC route I don’t know if you could use the same controller. You could buy a Navitas conversion, they have 2 options 5kw 600 amp and 4kw 440 amp. For this you will need a 48 TXT harness, new solenoid and a F/R rocker switch (DPDT) and a run/tow switch(SPST). I found my best price on an AC conversion from Plum Quick. Everything is hard to come by right now so look before you leap. Chances are you could easily resell the Navitas controller you currently have. Don’t forget a 48 volt battery charger, you can buy a used one pretty reasonable. Whichever way you go, I think it’s about equal money either way, I’ve been both routes.

DriftingAnomaly, do you know me?? haha, that's exactly how this started, to keep me from going to the casino and blowing money! I always have a project going of some kind, I took it down to the frame and redone everything I could without recruiting any help. It is the nicest 2002 I have ever seen.

Modifing a golf cart is kind of like going to a casino, it’s all blowing money!

I could buy everyone on this forum a new cart for what I spent in there the last 10 years! It's easier to hide this golf cart spending from the wife than the casino withdraws as well.

I do need to convert my shift lever to a F/R switch as well, it kinda shorts out my radio when I go from forward to reverse for a second, I have a converter mounted not too far from the lever, ever heard of that happening? A guy I work with says the converter shuts down for a split second when you switch gears, didnt sound right to me?

Never heard of that but I don’t have a radio either. Nice part about Navitas, you replace that antique lever with a DPDT rocker switch.

Another tip for you, the 48 TXT harness you need you can get at Country Cat for a reasonable price.

So I can install a dash switch with the type of cart I have? I thought my only options was to put the F/R switch in where the lever already is. I prefer the dash switch if it isnt too much to install

For a switch on the dash I think you would just have to lengthen the wires if I remember right. Installed mine right where the lever was.
