Looking to buy a cart with Crown 8 volt batteries. Anyone know about these batteries good or bad?

Re: Crown 8 volt batteries
My club came with crown from the factory they are still working fine since 2012 and I'm sure they were abused on the golf course before i got it.

Re: Crown 8 volt batteries
I recently installed a new set of Crown CR-190's in my cart. So far, so good. I have heard nothing but good things about them. Like any other battery, they are only as good as the care and maintenance they receive.

Crown batteries are good
A few sizes are available. Try to get 190 amp hour 8v batteries. |

Re: Crown 8 volt batteries
Can get (6) 8V Crowns for about $560 or Trojans for $630. Are the Crowns comparable to the Trojans? One local Crown dealer says they are better because of a larger internal post connection. Don't want to spend the extra if no advantage in lifespan.

Re: Crown 8 volt batteries
I wouldn't hesitate to get either one in my opinion. Just take care of them & do the proper break in and you should be fine. Do check to make sure the amp hours are comparable, like scotty said get the 190 ah.

Thanks I ended up buying the cart. It had a light kit hooked up I asked if it had some type of voltage reducer and it doesn't guy said he has had lights hooked up for over a year to 16 volts and no problem. I check it all out no reducer. How is this possible?
