So it's taking off as soon as you make the connection? That's the first I've ever heard of that with the IQ drive system such as yours... The IQ controller is not supposed to run unless it first detects a zero throttle. If throttle is applied when the connection is made, it's not supposed to run until you release it and re-apply. There may be an issue with your motor controller and/or MCOR.

Not good.

I have tried again and am experiencing the same results (without as much damage), If I wire the black wire from the controller box onto the + on the first battery then wire the others in line ending with the red cable that goes to the solenoid, the cart fires up in reverse. If I wire it the other way, Red on + ending with black on - I don,t get any thing at all, well maybe a little noise from the reversing alarm and the battery light on the dash comes on a little.

So what am I doing wrong?

advice welcome.
Black wire should go to (-) on battery six? then that battery + to five's - and so on till number ones + to solenoid,...

Thumbs down Re: Installation of new Batteries.

OK, so I have all the batteries wired in as per the forum advice.

When I switch it from Tow to run the battery light on the dash comes on but turns off again after a minute or so. I turn the key and put my foot on the gas but nothing happens.

I thought maybe the batteries were not charged so plugged in the the charger and that shows there is a good 36V charge in the system so I don't think that can be the issue.

Any suggestions?

Also, where should I connect the thin yellow cable (fused) that comes from the front of the battery bay near the forward and reverse switch?

post six,

I have a 2004 DS ELECTRIC 48V IQ SYSTEM.

Serial number is AQ0448
I'd get some more volts,...

Are you saying that it simply won't work with 6 x 6Volt (36V) system in it and it must have 6 x 8V?
