Default 96 club car, broke geardrive? Broke outputshaft

Hello, new to forum. As probably for many because I broke a toy. I was goofing in golf cart doing donuts and power braking and broke something. It feels like the gear or shaft from electric motor to axles. If you go very slow at take of it will develop speed. If you just push pedal it just clunks in place.. As if it is not engaging. I am not sure the drive system from electric motor to drive wheel.
What did I break and how tough is the fix?
Thank You

never opened one up but it sounds like you wore the gears down some or whatever keeps the gears meshed together let go. I say open it up and see what's going on.. other than that I'm giving you a bump, someone will chime in sooner or later that's worked on them before.

Thanks, I'm assuming that inside the two cases is some kind of trans/gears. Was actually really hoping there was some easy button. Well I will take pics and tear into it. I did see where it's not worth repairing them as you can buy a used assembly for cheap.

I would look elsewhere besides the gears. The gears would function at low and high speed. I'm thinking you have a solid state controller and as soon as it tries to draw a large amount of current it faults out.
