What voltage should charger kick on?
Battery voltage is at 49.7 v, which is between 70 - 80% full charge.
Charger will not kick on unless I disconnect Neg. cable to reset OBC. I have only charged the batteries once since I last did the reset. At what voltage should the OBC start the charge cycle? |

Re: What voltage should charger kick on?
My charger will kick on even when the batteries are fully charged, all I have to do is unplug it wait a few minutes and plug it back in.
You must have a problem with the obc or something. Seems like this has been posted before but I can't recall what the problem turned out to be. |

Re: What voltage should charger kick on?
With a properly functioning OBC the charger should start a charge sequence any time it is plugged into the cart after being unplugged for a bit...
If it turns out to be the OBC and since they are not repairable and quite costly it may be a good time to look into a DPI charger and get rid of the particular gremlin.... |

Re: What voltage should charger kick on?
Yes, Neg. cable is through the OBC.
I have had intermittent problems with charger not starting after first plugging in but would start after using cart and connecting charger. I thought this was caused by the OBC logarithm of repeated charge times but one charge cycle should not be enough cycles to build a new logarithm. I will remove the Neg. cable from pack and verify that resetting the OBC starts the charge cycle. |

Re: What voltage should charger kick on?
Check the OBC Grey wire circuit, this is for mine a 99 Powerdrive,
I think they should work similar,... Test Procedure 12 - OBC Gray Wire and Fuse 1. Using a multimeter set to 200 volts DC, connect red lead to positive post of battery No. 1 and black lead (with insulation probe) to gray 16 gauge wire at a point between fuse and receptacle. Reading should be approximately 48 volts. If reading is zero volts, check gray wire fuse and fuse holder. See WARNING on page 11-11. 2. If the reading in step 1 is 48 volts, plug the DC cord into the vehicle’s charger receptacle. The voltage reading should drop to approximately 4.0 volts before the charger relay clicks on. 3. When the charger relay is activated, the reading should rise to approximately 48 volts. 4. If voltage does not drop to approximately 4.0 volts when the DC cord is plugged in and then rise to approximately 48 volts when the charger relay clicks ON, the gray wire circuit in the OBC has failed. Replace the OBC. |

Connection at the plug gave me some trouble, wiggle the wire and it would come on,...
