If I remember right, it's a little square box with four posts on it. I do believe it acts like a diode...

Changed that out with the one from my working charger with the same result.

One more thing for you to try. Maybe there is a short in the DC output cord. With all the pulling on that cord the wires could be shorted. I'm thinking you could remove one of the wires on the N/O contacts of the relay to check and see if the breaker pops.

Swapped cords and still popped the breaker....transformer must be bad.

If you've changed the heatsink (diode strip in the back of the charger) with a known working good one and the breaker still trips, the transformer is bad.
