Default Need to muffle the back up alarm.

I have a 2002 DS. It is a series cart. I am using this cart for my hunt lease. I want to muffle the back up alarm so it is not as loud. Can anyone tell me where it is located. (I think, somewhere near the f&R switch....

Any other suggestions? Based on other posts, looks like many people don't recommend shuting it off. I understand why, and I don't think it will be much of a safety issue for my use, but I am OK if I can just lower the volume. Any pics out there of what the thing looks like?

Thanks

Locate the offending buzzer and lightly stuff the "hole" with cotton ball or paper towel until you achieve the desired volume. I appreciate the safety of the buzzer, but don't need to be reminded as loudly as my mother used to tell me to clean my room.

LOL, I put a foam earplug in it and then tape it up on top of that.... If used for hunting, a switch on one of the leads might be appropriate for the few weeks of a year when you want silence....

Love the foam ear plug idea! Love your meter as well.

Just happen to have a grip of those plugs you roll them between the finger and thumb to compress them then insert into the hole and let it expand - whala
Still needs tape though, they are loud!
Glad you like the meter

Scotty,
Can you snap a picture of the alarm, with and without the ear plug? I just want to see what it looks like so I don't mess with the wrong thing....

Thanks

Sorry no, carts come and go here. The buzzer is usually 1.5 " round, black, making noise thing under the seat or behind the dash depending... follow your ear.

I have a 2009 precedent and the buzzer is located behind the dash close to the key switch. Three torque screws and the dash slides open. I unplugged the ground wire to the buzzer and taped it up good then wire tied the ground cable to another cable so it wouldnt flop around. Thats the first thing I did when I got the cart because I back up a lot of trailers and couldnt handle the noise. My old cart was a 2002 ezgo and I did the same thing. Good to go.
