haven't gotten chance to look under cart yet at the motor but whats the purpose of the 4 poles for a dc motor? the schemetic shows 2 for the motor and 2 for a transformer?

as I could test it with 12 volts or so the motor side right ? or what ideas to test it

A series wound DC motor has stationary windings (Stator) and moveable windings (Armature).
What you are calling a transformer is the Stator.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO GET MOTOR TO RUN WHEN NOT INSTALLED IN CART

The armature is only has a bearing on one end and will self-destruct if you spin it with the front shaft properly supported.

With motor mounted in cart and rear wheels jacked off ground, connect the A2 stud to the S2 stud and connect a 12V battery to the A1 and S1 studs.

Before doing that, measure betwwen the A1&A2 studs with an Ohmmeter, and between the S1&S2 studs, and between the S and A studs the the motor case.

You should have continuation between the Armature studs and between the Stator studs, but none from either to motor case.

ah ok ill try that and no I wont be pulling out motor wasn't planning on it

so then whats the difference between this motor and a regular dc motor as there is only 2 + and -

what is special about a series dc motor? like not sure how it works compared to a regular dc motor but ill meter it today

what size of gauge of wire u recommend using

1. A DC motor with only two wires either uses permanent magnets, or the Stator and Armature are wired in series internally.

2. Not sure what you mean be "regular DC motor. There are only three basic types. Series, Permanent Magnet (PM) and Sepex (Separately Excited or shunt wound) They can be packaged differently for different applications, but they all work about the same.

The series wound and sepex motors used in golf carts have both ends of both sets of windings accessible because the direction of the current flow in one of the windings is reversed to reverse the direction the motor spins, allowing the cart to move forward and backwards.

3. 6Ga or heavier for testing. 4Ga or heavier for use.

ok guess what I ment but regular DC motor is just a + - contacts and that's it that u have magnets inside I didn't know there was other types just brushs and brushless motors
but still only had 2 contacts + - that's all I knew is what I ment

so can I guess I cant put battery charger directly on A1 and A2 contacts and that's why I got confused as that's all I grew up wit is 2 type of motors or sometimes 3 wires for a computer fan that can alter the speed but not sure how that one works

ok I re read ur one post too as I didn't get time to sit down and read

so for testing the motor I jumper a wire from A2 and S2 together and also put + from batter on A1 and - on A1 or vise versa correct

Other than it is the type motor that the manufacturer installed in the cart, I haven't looking into the pros and cons.
