I will definantley take your advice and charge the batteries 2 at a time and replace the cable. i wont be back until 4th of July to work on it, but i will let you know the outcome. Thanks All

If the cable was red hot, wouldn't the insulation be melted? Cables are cheap. Get a new one. Follow the charging instructions from the previous posts and good luck.

You do not have to disconnect and cables or wires, to charge 2 at a time with a 12v charger, check with your DVM and make sure you have 12v before you turn the charger on

You can do it both ways, and it's a good time to clean the battery post and the cable ends, at the same time. It's hell getting old, sure hope someone comes up with something to stop it,

Just wanted to thank everyone for the advice. I replaced all of my cables and charged the batteries as suggested. The cart runs great again.
