Default 95 medalist very slow uphill

I have a 95 medaliat 36v I put all new 4 gauge wires and it still crawls uphills it was slow with the 6 v batteries so I put 3 marine 12 voltage just to see but still the same. Any help would be appreciated I don't want to do a new speed controller or motor if I don't have to. I'm not looking to high speed just don't want to bearly climb hills. Oh and I just use it around my campsite if that helps

12v marine batts are designed for starting a boat motor, not running a cart. I would get some new 6v batteries and see if things improve...
How old were your old 6v batts?

Its called old age.....things tend to wear with age. Chances are the motor is tired.

Very slow is a relative term. Slower than you can walk? And hill is a subjective term too. Some peoples hills are other peoples mtns.

Slowing under load is normal. Slower than you can walk up a modest incline may indicate wear problems as Roady mentioned, motor brushes? Also cart roll resistance plays a part. lastly additional equipment or modifications can adversely effect performance.

You may just need a higher amperage speed control.

It is slower than you can walk and when the slightest incline. Flat roads it goes fast.
