Default 94 Marathon controller swap question

I have a 94 Marathon I just picked up and have had a few carts over the years and have collected a few take off parts. My question is can I keep the stock motor and use a pds controller with solenoid and pds f and r switch? Any performance increase there? Also I will disable the hill brake. Any info would sure be appreciated. Thanks

A '94 Marathon most likely has a series wound motor, so a PDS controller won't work.

I don't know if the motor will fit physically, one way or the other. Hopefully someone who does know will be along shortly.

However, a lot of re-wiring will have to be done to convert a Marathon Series cart to a PDS.

Also, the Marathon controller cart has a pot box throttle and the PDS controller uses an ITS (Inductive Throttle System), so more than just re-wiring will be needed.

I'm not saying it can't be done, but it certainly won't be plug-n-play by any stretch of the imagination.

-----------
FWIW: The "hill brake" is an integral part of the PDS system and cannot be disabled.
The PDS controller can be replaced with an aftermarket controller that does not use motor speed sensing, but then it is no longer a PDS system.

The PDS system has four modes of operation and in two of them, regenerative braking occurs after you lift your foot off the pedal, but in all of them regen braking is turned on when the motor RPM exceeds the max allowable RPM for whatever mode it is in.
In the highest speed mode, that is about 4,400RPM, or about 18-19 MPH on stock height (18") tires, so the max downhill speed is limited to about 20MPH.

-----------
What are the goals for the Marathon?
More speed? Ease of shifting from F to R?
