The AC motor has 4 long bolts that are visible that "sandwich" the motor together. The old DC motors had no bolts running down the outside of the motor case.

Wish I had known about the $5500 for new AC before I bought the used RXV. I would have paid that and shipped it. Love Yamaha's. I need to check this site more often. Dang!!!

Ah, found it. Looks like $5500 is the absolute stripped down base AC Drive Yamaha available. Add a few options to make it desirable and you quickly approach $7k.
