Default Dropped a wrench across motor terminals

In, my haste to replace a missing bolt on a Yamaha G16 (Electric), I dropped a wrench across A! and F2 terminals on the motor. Small spark show, now, no run. Do I need a controller? Can this motor be repaired?

You likely killed the controller. You would not have hurt the motor.

Motor = good. Controller = bad.

Lesson learned I'm sure but everyone should see this and make sure that they disconnect the main battery pack before doing any work on a cart. Solid state devices will not withstand even a momentary short if they are energized. (and you can get hurt)

Field wires better never touch armature wires, even with the power disconnected. The residual power in the capacitors can still kill controller.
