96 Club Car runs well for a while, quits and won't start when it gets hot
So I have a 96 Club Car, it seems to run good for a while, but then going up hills, or after running for a while, it heats up (which I think is the problem) and then it stops. The starter will spin, but it will not start.
I don't think there is a spark either, I need to check that. It's not the DS model, so there is no ignitor? Just the coil? Brand new starter, new spark plug, gas line, filter, fuel filter, and cleaned the carb. I've checked the air intake (at the choke) and the holes are clear. I imagine it is the coil, but I have no idea where to start, or what parts I need. Any help is gratefully appreciated, thanks! |

Coils sometimes fail when heated up and work fine when cool. They're cheap enough so it may be worthwhile just to replace it.
To test the coil you can measure it's resistance but you would have to do that cold and hot to see if there's any difference. |

I found this one...but I don't even know where to start, is there a guide anywhere? I've looked all over, but everything seems to be for the DS model, where it is located around the RPM limiter or something. (and its the ignitor, not the ignition coil)

Same issue on my '97. Ended up being the coil. It's located on the flywheel side of the engine under the tin, near the carburetor.
