Default 92 DS doesnt start

So go my cart in yesterday. Got a battery put in today. Turn the key on, press the go pedal and nothing. Check the power from battery to fuse to solenoid to key and everything is getting power. Put it in reverse and no buzzer sound either. Just to see if the motor was DOA we shorted the solenoid and the motor spins right up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you check the fuse to see if it was blown?

you gotta have a short somewhere. try the easiest places first, such as the micro switches. try Maintenance Mode and see if there is any change.

No change in maintenance mode. Still hunting to find a short.

Looks like it was the key switch. As long as its in the right spot it starts up with the pedal. Turn the key too far over and nothing. However.....even in gear it doesn't move.

Correction the motor cranks but isn't firing. Gonna check for spark next.

Okay got her running. It does crank for about 5 seconds before it gets moving though. Is the key switch just a plug and play swap? I though i read somewhere that all CC's use the same key so figured they also use the same switch.

Not all CC key switches are the same, just the keys are!
  • CC electric have 2 terminals,
  • CC Gas (pedal start) have 4 terminals,
  • and CC gas (key start) have 5 terminals.

I'd suggest getting a replacement Club Car key switch, and don't try to wire a switch from an auto parts store, they're not the same!
CC key switches are kinda' pricey, but it's about as Plug and Play as you can get!

CC part #101826301

Thanks Lockman. That part number is showing for 96+ carts though.
