You can purchase nichrome wire in various thicknesses from McMaster-Carr you cannot use copper wire

I have a old resistor cart mine has the 5 solenoid with a speed d&d motor it starts out fine but as you go tru the speeds it has a kick in the seat of your pants when going into 3 speed it’s worst on a hill 4 isn’t bad but the resistors are matched to a stock motor have a speed motor it’s not going to be smooth plus the bigger motor can draw more amps and cause more heat if I nail my cart in the gravel it will spin the wheels on hard ground it will throw you into the seat if your not ready my wife isn’t a fan of it but it’s fun to drive boggies right down the road
