Default 36v Electrical info needed HELP!!!!!!!!

I found this wire diagram but does not match mine
this I can read just need any thing this simple or just told were does the neg wire go

I found the pic when I googled g9 elec
but under the seat it say different then the pic shows for battery layout

if I follow the diagram the best I can I but the neg battery to the control and the same neg gets the black from the charger plug but once I connect I get a spark
dont want to burn

near legs at seat I have the rev/forward switch and key only

there is no seat switch i have seen on any yamaha g9 diagram .. or any others i have seen
on the g9 diagram i posted neg goes to charger plug and controller
i am going to pm a yamaha guy and ask his help
