Default 1995 electric club car shorted ignition switch no power

Like a dummy I shorted out the ignition switch while pulling panel off. Now I cannot find the fuse (if there is one). How do I test to see if I blew up the ignition (key) switch or what other ideas anyone might have to fix this issue.

The keyswitch should not arc on the frame because electric cars do not have a frame ground. There should be no wire anywhere attached to the frame. If there is, you're going to get an arc. Do you have lights or some other accessory grounded to the frame? If so, you need to reconfigure your wiring correctly to a 12 volt source from your battery pack or voltage reducer.

Back to your original question, there are no fuses on the wire harness to prevent this. Did it melt the wire harness down? They keyswitch can be checked by an ohm meter. You should have zero resistance between the two posts of the keyswitch with the key on and an open connection with it off.

In '95 Club Car made 3 different drive systems for their golf carts. One was 36 volt and two different types of 48 volt (Powerdrive and Powerdrive Plus). It would be helpful to know what you have.

If the cart is 48v - you can advise what you have by looking HERE
