Default another cart

ok I'm back in the cart world as of today, I got a 1997 48 volt ds,
the thing is it has 5 bad batteries and one the guy bought new two weeks ago
the new one is a Duracell ultra, and was curious if I should go ahead and buy good Trojans or buy 5 duracells like the new one, I have never messed with duracells and I know I like Trojans

Hmm....

Check the warranty, amp hours and cost of the Duracell. Then decide on:

- 5 more Duracells
- 5 Trojans
- 6 Trojans and cell the new Duracell on Craigslist or swip/swap.

Here is MHO. If it is a name brand battery and has the amp hours you want, go with cost as I have had Trojans, US Batteries, and Interstate and never had a gripe with any of them. My US's are over 7 years old and still putting out consistent high 50.x volts 12 hours after charging, but I could very well be getting that with the other brands too.

Just weigh out your options and make best decision possible. If you plan on keeping cart for a while go with best batteries you can afford, if not get 5 more from Sam's and call it a day.

I just went thru this last week trying to decide best route for my new batteries. I looked at duracells aka deka from Sam's $100ea plus tax so $660 out the door. I called around few shops and found trojan t875 were $125ea and US 8vgcHC were $130ea, I paid cash and got them to waive the sales tax so I paid $780 out the door for the US batteries, only $120 more than the duracells from Sam's would have cost me, thought that was well worth it.

let's hope the one new battery has not been damaged by charging the entire pack
a new battery will charge with the pack and be fully charged before the old ones , thus it will over charge while the old ones get charged ... just saying

mboger,
Get the best batteries you can afford sounds like good advice.

Regardless of your decision on which batteries to go with, it's all about the maintenance.

Here is the link to the Sticky note about Battery Maintenance, in case it is new or changed since your last cart:
