Hooking the white speed sensor wire to the new Curtis adapter white wire might have fried the speed sensor.

That should not have harmed it. The white wire is a sense wire for sensing the state of the motor brake, and it is not internally pulled high or low. If he restored the motor speed encoder wire to its original state, then tapped the conversion kits white wire into the motor brake to brake switches light colored wire, all should be ok.

Thanks for your input Bob. I was afraid that he sent 48v into the 5v speed sensor wire.

Me too. Once he explained how he had connected it, it should have been ok.

Thanks BOB.

I did restore everything back to normal and connected the motor break white wire to the supplied white wire in the kit. The cart still has problems. It moves forward and backwards but flutters and then motor break locks.

Going back to the original problem. I washed the cart really well and it damaged the Old controller AND who’s knows what else. A golf cart shop said the controller was fried and needed to be changed. So the only thing I’ve replaced was a upgraded Curtis controller.

You might check the motor encoder. See page 41 in the manual.

If I remember correctly, the orange wire splice connects to the speed sensor/encoder. (Watching baseball as I type this.) You might check the quality of that splice to verify you have a good connection. A bad splice could be keeping the pulses from being registered by the controller. The symptom is the same as my cart exhibited, but I had a wiring corrosion problem that I had to fix.

I went over all the Connections. Thanks for the recommendations! Unfortunately cartbis still not working fully! Turn the key and press the Excelerator— motor break releases and car moves slowly about foot then stops. Without turning key off- I try to press the excelerator again and the cart does nothing. I have to turn cart back off then turn back on to get any reaponse from it. When I press the petal and the cart moves slowly forwar or backwards. It seem like the motor break is trying to grab ahold. Makes a fluttery sounds then it cuts off like I mentioned.

For some reason I’m really thinking I have a poor connection to the back of the cart. Motor break or Speed Sensor. I’m currently trying to find someone with a programmer to give me some codes.

Thanks for all the help!

If you want to pull your controller and mail it to me, I can pull the error logs and see what shows up. I can also enable Freedom Mode and bump the speed up while it's here. Let me know if you want to do that, if so I'll PM you my mailing address.
