No plan on bringing it off. No reason the damaged bead can't be repaired via weld.

Well, that’s a new one. I haven’t seen a bolt seized to the aluminum like that. I’ve had it happen on blind hole mounts, cylinder heads, engine blocks, that sort of thing. But those are always rusted the full length of the bolt into a solid chunk of the housing. Usually with a piece of plate like that the rust/corrosion breaks before the bolt will, or in this case the plate.

You can straighten it with a drift, but you’ll have to grind all of that corrosion off the frame around the weld to get a clean re-weld. You’re on the right track, just... need to counter-steer a little.

The heat and crescent wrench did the trick. Got it straighten out and cleaned up.

Now I'm have another problem, hopefully very minor, mostly due to inexperience and lack of knowledge or manual. The plate holding brake cable on axle came loose from cable when I dropped it. I first thought it would go behind the ridge on cable, but that does not seem possible. Looking at other side, it appears to be in front of ridge. If true, should there be a snap ring to hold cable in place. Right side of cable is too rusted to tell, without removing again from axle. Any non trusted pic would be appreciated.

Disregard, found an exploded parts schematic, and it shows a 1/2" E clip. Hope they have one at my parts store in this one horse town ..... lol

Hats off to you. Looks like you did a great job on that bracket.

Thanks MrG., I had a lot if good advice. I found an E clip locally and got it all back together, including putting the rear seat/bed back on for the first time since I started working on it. The cracked weld bead was just partial on the bottom 3rd of bracket. I will reweld it when I get more gas for the MIG. I thank the Lord and folks on this forum for all the help in getting all the work/problems of the past month taken care of.
