Thanks Mike,yes I can easily compress the drive clutch completely with the belt removed;is the secondary clutch the same as the driven clutch and if so how do I un-stick it?

Secondary expands and is not as easy to 'test'. It does seem that your drive is OK now and I'd bet the secondary is bad. I do not like to recommend spraying oil into the clutch, but in this case we have no choice. On the rear end side of the clutch you can see a circular opening where that clutch expands, squirt a small amount of penetrating oil there and give the cart a few revs. You probably have some clutch damage, though. Some guys here have rebuilt them, we just replace with new when they go bad...

Ya'll didn't get any from the big cold front that went thru Texas on Friday? Last I looked at a US Radar, it looked like that thing wasn't stopping until it passed Florida!!!
