Default 2003 vs. 2007 TXT

Hi all, newbie here. I am looking to get my first Cart and want to customize myself. I will keep the stock engine for now, add lift, tires, etc. I can get a 2003 TXT for about $2200 or a 2007 TXT for about $2800. Haven't seen either one in person, but both described to be in excellent condition. Are there any major differences between the 2 (engine especially)? I am thinking the 2007 is a better buy since newer. Any advice?

Thanks in advance.

Take a compression gauge and test each cart. Also get a good "feeling" of the clutch faces. Either cart could be better than the other, if you know what to look for

BOTH seem to be priced below average market value...

Thanks for the info. I went and looked at the 2003 yesterday and it was in real good shape, new belts, air cleaner, plugs, very clean. He even knocked off another $200 for paying cash. So I couldn't turn it down. The kids wouldn't get out of it when I brought it home. The funny thing is we are all ATV riders (my boys have a Sportsman 500 and a Prairie 360) and I think they had more fun in the cart. Now it's time to start the mods.

cibach: Just took a quick picture (don't mind my dog in the background). I'll be sure to post more as I start the mods.
