Engine Cleaning
My G-16 engine area is getting real dusty from running around our campground. Can I rinse the area with a water hose or should I use an air hose on it ?

Re: Engine Cleaning
I drown mine with water all the time, never had a problem. I don't cover anything.

Re: Engine Cleaning
I washed the snot out of mine all the time, after a while I did figure out that you can get water in the gas cap on a G9....and then it don't run in the winter. Now I don't hit the gas cap but everything else under it, and run some drygas once in a while, no problems.

Re: Engine Cleaning
I never have, the dust seems to wash right off....though I suppose I would not eat off of it . I have used a pressure washer. The fun part is doing a holeshot with wet clutches. I have actually seriously considered installing a window washer pump/tank from a car so I could hit the button and spray water on the belt and do a holeshot. I always drive mine some after a wash to heat the motor and drive out any water from inside the generator/etc.

Re: Engine Cleaning
I use Gunk engine cleaner all the time on all kinds of engines, does a good job. Will kill the grass though so don't do it in the front yard.

Re: Engine Cleaning
Just go get some super clean or purpel power, it works the best for the application.

Re: Engine Cleaning
Also if you go get a magic eraser and spay your seats with the super clean and use the eraser to scrub your seats they look better than new.

Re: Engine Cleaning
I been using waterless hand cleaner with pumice to get the seats clean. I use bleach on the rest of the cart, just mix some in a sprayer about 25% and spray it on, blast it off with the hose. Works nice on the house too. But my cart is not painted either.
