Yes that will be the next thing I am sure. I keep saying that the alternative is to shell out for a Polaris Ranger like a lot of guys do on the Sporting Clays circuit - we either use lifted carts or $$$ UTVs. So when the time comes I guess I will convert to 48 volt and perhaps speedier motor and still have way less money invested than the other option.

well not only would it be best to convert to 48v, but a new controller, SD Solenoid, HD F/R switch (if your cart is a series), and bigger cables. a new motor isn't really needed, as your 36v motor will work with 48v, just uping the voltage from 36v to 48v will increase the speed and torque by roughtly 30%

Sir Nuke, so one thing the cart did before lifting and still does now is to slow to a steady crawl when pulling any grade at all. It pulls nice and steady but just slower than I want. Then once topping a hill and on level ground the speed is acceptable again. So if I were to change my cart similar to what you have done ( saw your write up on your thread) how is the performance on hills? It may be my imagination but I swear that the cart is a tad bit faster now that we have put on the taller tires.

currently the reason your cart slows is two fold, by putting the taller tires on has robbed some of your torque, and since your drive system is still stock, it doesn't have enough power (amps in the system) to pull it up the hills. its why you need to upgrade the controller,, solenoid, f/r switch. I would recommend all of the pieces of my drive system to you, if in fact you have a series cart, EXECPT the motor.....its made for speed, not torque, I am on flat ground, no hills.....the biggest "hill" I encounter is a CURB! there are plenty of aftermarket motors that will make more torque and some speed.

IF you upgrade to 48v, I think you would be happy with my system AND the stock motor....but after you get the rest of the upgrade done, and you use the stock motor.....give it a shot first, its what I did, THEN if you want more, its real easy to swap out the motor. its exactly what I did, it only took me an hour to swap it out,, start to finish.
