Help G8
Hi guys. I now have my G8 up and running. The motor has been rebuilt. New seals, New rings, New intake (old one was cracked) now that is back together an I ran it this weekend I’m finding a problem I had never seen before. It doesn’t seem to have the power it should. I have to pull the choke out and it runs better. I put a larger jet in it and it seems to help but not by much. I also hear a popping sound in the muffler. Is it possible that the valves out of adjustment an letting fuel in and that’s why the popping? That would want it to need more fuel. When I had the head off I had a guy reseat the valves and he said there was no need to adjust them. But I’m thinking there is.

Yep I would check the valves again. They can be kinda tricky to get just right. Also check your carb and make sure that the throttle cable is letting it close all the way. That could also be a reason for the popping.

Make sure your air box is sealed up tight or you will lack for power.

Re: Help G8
Its tight. Well as tight as its always been. It's always been. The clips are on it. Is there a way to test the air box to see? I was thinking like blocking off the in let to the air box or spaying starting fluid around the seems to see if it gains RPMs. That should tell me.
