Yamaha G-16 not moving
Ok, here goes I know someone can help me as never failed
on this awsome forum. I was moving on cart Saturday and next thing just stopped. The motor is turning belts and sounds same as always when starting front clutch is not closing around belt (is that what engages engine to kick into gear) cart is just standing still No Fwrd or Rev. Anyone have any idea what issue could be? |

Re: Yamaha G-16 not moving
If it is revving up and not closing you may have a sticking or damaged drive clutch.

Re: Yamaha G-16 not moving
Its not going fast its moving at a normal when just starting out
I know in normal operation engine revs when clutch closes correct ? What is a solution to rule if clutch is bad and if sticking what is way to unstick it |

Re: Yamaha G-16 not moving
MD it is still not clear if the engine is actually running, the engine starts slow and as it revs up then the clutch closes. A strong battery will inch the cart along.

Re: Yamaha G-16 not moving
It is turning strong, the cart will jerk a bit and move a bit
if I drop shifter from net down to drive as I metioned the belts are turning its as if the clutch wont close to get it to rev up or kick into gear but I just want opinion think its the drive clutch, should that not close regardless ? Battery is fully charged and reads 12.5 volts |

Re: Yamaha G-16 not moving
If it doesn't rev up then maybe it's not running at all??

Re: Yamaha G-16 not moving
Motor will not turn enough rpms by starter turning it over to close clutch up.
