Default 36v vs. 48v overall

Probably an elementary question for most on here, but is a 36 vs a 48 close to comparing a v6 engine to a v8? For offroad use at the deer lease is 48 the way to go? Thanks guys

Short answer, YES. But a 36v will get the job done.

The comparison between a V6 and a V8 with each individual cylinder having same displacement is more akin to a 300A controller vs a 500A controller.
You'll have more oomph, but the gas tank (batteries) will need to be refilled sooner.

With six of the highest AH 8V batteries available (~190AH), you might get about the same run time as six standard (~225AH) 6V batteries in a 36V system, or a little less depending on how heavy you foot is.

If you use eight 6V batteries you get more speed, more torque and more run-time.

If you even consider using four 12V batteries, you need the tin hat more than I do.

The most valued attribute of a drive system in the woods (or in the mud or on a rocky mountain) is torque.

36 and 48 can both create lots of torque given the proper components.

The higher the voltage the more torque you will be able to produce. Things like big tires, back seats, ice chests, and a buddy riding shotgun rob a cart of torque. It takes about all a 36v system can muster just to get back to even. A 48v cart can overcome these drains better, especially when powering a 36v motor or a custom built 48v motor. Hope this helps.
